Mahidol University, an autonomous research institution, has its origin in the establishment of Siriraj Hospital in 1888. Becoming the University of Medical Science in 1943, it has been recognized as the fourth public university in Thailand.

Mahidol University is happy to announce Siriraj Graduate Scholarships for Foreigners to study in Thailand. Scholarships are available to pursue Master and PhD program.

The aim of the scholarship is to provide financial help to foreign students.

Course Level: Scholarships are available to pursue graduate programme (Master and PhD).

MSc: 6,000 Baht: Month , Duration: 1 Year
PhD: 7,000 Baht: Month, Duration: 1 Year

Stipend for Siriraj Graduate Scholarship Type II

MSc: 6,000 Baht: Month , Duration: 1 Year
PhD: 7,000 Baht: Month, Duration:  2 Year

Eligibility Criteria:

The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

Siriraj Graduate Scholarship Type I

The Siriraj Graduate Scholarships Type I are for first-year graduate students whose entry cumulative GPA is at least 3.00 (out of 4.00) for MSc candidates and 3.50 for doctorate students. In addition, applicants must have passed the English proficiency test, as required by the Faculty of Graduate Students, and have passed the graduate entrance examination with good grades, as endorsed by the program. Graduate Scholars received for one year a generous stipend and all educational expenses including all fees for courses endorsed by the program.

Siriraj Graduate Scholarship Type II

the Siriraj Graduate Scholarships Type II are for graduate students in the second year or later (please see the actual announcement for limitations). Applicants must have taken at least two semesters of courses with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or over for MSc students, and 3.50 or over for PhD students, and must state the topic of the thesis research. Thesis Graduate Scholars receive the same stipend and coverage for all educational expenses, similar to the Graduate Scholars, The scholarship in this category is limited to one year for MSc students and two years for PhD students.

Nationality: Foreign students are eligible to apply for this scholarship program.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements: Type I are for first-year graduate students whose entry cumulative GPA is at least 3.00 (out of 4.00) for MSc candidates and 3.50 for doctorate students. Type II are for graduate students in the second year or later (please see the actual announcement for limitations).

Test Requirement: GMAT score of 600. Applicants without GMAT can take the CMMU Analytical Test: For further information, please see the PhD           Analytical Test.

English Language Requirement:

  • TOEFL paper-based score of 575 or higher (TOEFL iBT: 90+) or IELTS (academic band) score of 6.5 or above. Applicants with TOEFL paper-based scores between 550 and 575 can also be considered for acceptance, under the condition to improve the English score to 575 within the 1st year of the PhD program
  • Applicants who do not have a recent TOEFL or IELTS test score (taken less than 2 years ago), can take CMMU’s own TOEFL ITP English test.
